Renault i mali sportski automobili su nerazdvojiva celina već decenijama. Sedamdesetih su od "šporeta" na točkovima pravili autobile koji su na relijima i kružnim trkama pobeđivali mnogo jače modele. Pri tome su se vodili pravilom "pobedi u nedelju, prodaj u ponedeljak", tako da su obični "smrtnici" mogli da kupe sportsku verziju. Poslednji u nizu "biser" je Renault Megane RS.
Dizajn karoserije Megana RS je podređen funkciji, tako da veliki spojleri i naglašeni difuzori zaista služe da poboljšaju stabilnost automobila pri velikim brzinama. Renault čak tvrdi da je intenzivno koristio aerodinamička rešenja iz Formule 1, naročito kod prednjeg spojlera i usisnika vazduha za hladnjak.
Prednji i zadnji rubovi su prošireni plastičnim dodacima, kako bi na auto mogli da stanu ogromni točkovi od 18 (opciono 19) inča, a na prednjim rubovima su u trkačkom maniru izvedeni otvori koji usmeravaju vazduh na kočnice radi boljeg hlađenja.

U svakom slučaju, auto nikoga od prolaznika neće ostaviti u nedoumici o čemu se radi. Međutim, pravim ljubiteljima brzine nije presudno kako auto izgleda, već kako se vozi.
Testirani primerak je imao "kup" paket opreme koji se doplaćuje 2.554 evra i sadrži specijalne mat crne naplatke od 18 inča, sportskije i tvrđe ogibljenje "kup", Rekaro sedišta, samoblokirajući diferencijal i zasečene Brembo kočnice sa crvenim kočnim klještima. Dakle, ultimativna jurilica!

Ovo definitivno nije auto u koji ćete nonšalantno uskočiti i odvesti se. "Kadice" firme Rekaro zahtevaju pažnju prilikom ulaska i izlaska iz auta, ako ne želite masnice na butinama i ostalim ekstremitetima. Kada se uvučete u auto, shvatate da tvrda sedišta koja vas grle svom snagom i nisu toliko neudobna, naprotiv.
Pred vama je gotovo standardni, mali i dobro profilisani Renaultov volan kome je dodata žuta traka na vrhu u reli stilu.

Obrtomer ima pozadinu obojenu u žuto a umesto digitalnog brzinomera, iskorišćen je analogni iz "fluensa". Da usled adrenalinskog udara ne bi ste zaboravili da promenite brzinu, ugrađen je i zvučni i svetlosni signal koji vas upozorava na prevelike obrtaje par stotina obrtaja pre limitera.

Dvolitarski benzinac sa turbo punjačem razvija snagu od 250 "konja" pri samo 5500 o/min i maksimalni obrtni moment od 340 Nm pri 3000 o/min. Za razliku od atmosferskog motora iz Clia Sport, turbo verzija je maksimalno uglađena na svim obrtajima, čak i prilikom hladnog starta.
Na papiru snaga možda i ne deluje previše, međutim, teško je da vas iko rečima može pripremiti na eksploziju momenta prilikom dodavanja gasa. Ovaj benzinac ima onaj čuveni "turbo udarac" zbog kojeg puno ljudi voli da vozi tubo-dizele, ali se ne zaustavlja na oko tri i po hiljade već nastavlja da kida točkove, poluosovine i asfalt pod sobom sve do limitera na oko 6500 o/min.
Pri tome ispušta mešavinu sportskih, ali ipak pristojno prigušenih zvukova i iz motora, ali i od turbo punjača i iz izduvne cevi.

Ono što je dobro je da, ako niste raspoloženi za adrenalinski udar, ovaj auto možete voziti kao da je "1,5 dCi" i da menjate brzine na dve hiljade obrtaja, bez ikakvog protesta. Turbo rupa postoji, ali motor vas nikada ne ostavlja bez snage, tako da neće iznenaditi neiskusne vozače.
Jednostavno, primetite kako je od oko tri hiljade obrtaja počeo da snažnije vuče. Za ubrzanje iz mirovanja do 100 km/h potrebna mu je 6,1 sekunda, prvih 400 metara prelazi za 14,1 sekundu, kilometar za 25,7 sekundi, dok je maksimalna brzina 250 km/h.
Megan RS je toliko brži od standardnih, pa čak i sportskijih automobila da u potpunosti morate da promenite stil vožnje. Drugačije su tačke kočenja, brzine kojom možete da uđete u krivinu, način na koji dajete gas. Jednostavno, sve morate da planirate unapred i ništa ne smete da prepustite slučaju, zato što auto u trenutku može da vas iznenadi.
Želimo da naglasimo da je ponašanje automobila vrlo benigno i predvidivo i pored gotovo trkačkog podvozja. Tvrde opruge, amortizeri i stabilizatori ne dozvoljavaju praktično ni centimetar naginjanja u krivinama.
Kompletan sistem je zategnut kao najbolja trkačka mašina, tako da prenos snage na podlogu nikada ne dolazi u pitanje.
I pri najjačem ubrzavanju i kočenju, Megane je miran i vozaču uliva ogromno pouzdanje. Zadovoljstvo je ovakav auto voziti do krajnjih granica.
Pun gas do poslednjeg trenutka, potom svom snagom na kočnice koje zaustavljaju kao da ste udarili u zid od cigala, a potom "bacanje" u krivinu odsečnim potezom upravljača. I sve to će Megane RS postići bez imalo protesta.
Iako je vrlo tvrdo, ogibljenje nije brutalno, kao kod Clia Sport Cup. Auto čak prilično dobro i mekano upija duge neravnine, a na kratkim neravninama ne izbija vazduh iz pluća kao manji "brat".
Na kraju reč-dve o ceni. Osnovni Megane RS košta 23.990 evra, ali ako ste se već odlučili za ovakav auto, smatramo da bi obavezno trebalo da doplatite i "kup" paket opreme.
Tu su i bi-ksenonski farovi koji prate zakretanje upravljača, pa "arkamis" radio uređaj, a u auto se odlično uklapaju u specijalni Renault Sport merači uzdužnih i bočnih sila, kao i štoperica.
Potrošnja
Motor od 250 "konja" treba napojiti, tako da prilikom isterivanja maksimalne snage Megane RS može da troši u proseku čak i 20 litara benzina na sto kilometara.
Međutim, ako ga vozite normalno, prosek može da bude i duplo manji. U gradu je moguće postići prosek od 12 litara, a na otvorenom drumu oko osam uz uzdržanu vožnju.

Samoblokirajući diferencijal ima blokadu od 35 procenata i izuzetno dobro prenosi svu snagu na podlogu. Cena toga je da je auto malo nervozan kada naletite na kolotrage. Pri maksimalnom ubrzanju volan ima tendenciju da se iščupa iz ruku, tako da ga treba snažno držati i korigovati putanju, pošto se tada auto otima u stranu.
Ovaj Megane definitivno nije namenjen početnicima i ljudima koji nisu zainteresovani za sportsku vožnju, ali je zato nešto najsličnije čistokrvnom trkačkom automobilu što možete da nabavite za relativno umerenu cenu!
